Versus Arts is pleased to present Chronicles of the Everyday, a solo exhibition by Yiğit Özgür, presented during London Gallery Weekend 2026. Curated by Uzunarslan, the exhibition considers Özgür’s drawings not only as humorous narratives but also as visual records of everyday life. Bringing together a selection of works spanning more than two decades of artistic practice, the exhibition explores the artist’s distinctive ability to transform ordinary moments into compelling observations on contemporary society. Rather than focusing on extraordinary events, Chronicles of the Everyday turns its attention to the familiar: fleeting encounters, domestic routines, workplace dynamics, social expectations, and the subtle tensions that shape human relationships. Through theseseemingly simple scenes, Özgür constructs a visual chronicle of contemporary life, invitingviewers to recognize themselves in the stories unfolding before them. Widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in contemporary Turkish cartooning, Özgür has developed a practice that extends beyond humor, using caricature and illustration as tools for observation, reflection, and social commentary. While rooted in the culturallandscape of Turkey, his work resonates across geographical and generational boundaries through its exploration of universal aspects of human behavior. Together, these works form an archive of contemporary experience, capturing moments that are at once deeply personal and collectively familiar. Through wit, observation, and an acutesensitivity to the human condition, Chronicles of the Everyday offers a portrait of our timesthrough the lens of the everyday.
